This particular palm, a Dactylifera ( date palm ) which is a date palm
was inspired by the variety of palms of Maui, Hawaii.

Some blurred palms in the background are to give the feel of being closer
to the bird. Thanks to my husband who thought the bright red Vermilion

Flycatcher would be a nice touch. So, off to a village of Tubac, Arizona (Tin Cup was filmed here)
to capture images of this vermilion flycatcher we know can be easily found by the villages ponds.
The Vermilion Flycatcher is always moving it seems, never sitting still for very long;
thankfully I have a good camera to capture a still moment of a moving animal.
I was pleased with the outcome of putting together
the vermilion flycatcher and the Dactylifera (date palm) painted wood panel.
This painting is currently on a touring exhbit of Palaces in Italy and was at the Vatican Hall from
January 2020 to June 2020 (yes, it was on lockdown)
